Urban Nature Advocates, Fourth Gathering

Your Invitation

What if, through the rhythm of poetry, you moved closer to nature?

What if you discovered a detail and treated it like a treasure?

What if, through movement, you expressed your relationship with the world surrounding you?

What if you saw yourself reflected in nature?

What would you see?

Such beautiful invitations wove through the final workshop of the Urban Nature Advocates project, during which we experienced the power of teamwork, the synergy of wisdom, and meaningful insight into workshop activities taking place in parks.

There is still so much ahead of us, workshops with young people and new creations that will soon appear in parks and green spaces across Berlin.

Follow us, join us, and keep your fingers crossed for what’s to come.

For our fourth and final Urban Nature Advocate training session our UNAs took the lead and Dagna, Beth and Thea were invited and delighted by the methods these youth workers had devised.

Practicing their new skills was a rich and empowering experience and deeply encouraging for the trainers to see how well the UNAs have understood the power of using simple techniques to invite nature connection through engaging our senses. Our heads, hearts and hands were all welcomed into a deeper resonance with the beautiful, more-than-human beings in Volkspark Friedrichshain, Berlin.

NEXT STOP? Hungary!

To inspire our UNAs as they develop their own walks, we are taking the night train to meet with the UNAs who are also being trained up in Hungary. This study visit will be hosted by Messzalato, the lead partner of this EU funded project.

Then.... drum roll..... it's back to Berlin where our UNAs will guide their own groups of young people, develop audio guides and make geocaching sites for three parks AND create a set of beautiful method templates to inspire your own guided walks!

It's going to be a busy couple of months at KulturNest, but you know what? It is so rewarding to plant the seeds of nature connection and watch them grow, bringing calm, focus and creative insights along the way.
