Zuhause @ Recycled Creativity Festival

September 14, 2024

We had such a great time taking part in this year’s Recycled Creativity Festival in Berlin! For the occasion, we built a cozy little installation right in the middle of the garden — think rugs, couches, a coffee table, and lots of homey touches. It felt like a living room had popped up outdoors, and it quickly became a space where people could chill, connect, and get creative together.

One of the main things we did was start a collaborative artwork: a big patchwork rug made entirely from recycled materials. Everyone was invited to join in and add their own piece to it — the idea was to create something reusable that carried a little bit of everyone in it.

We also set up a postcard-writing station with a twist. The theme? Public space. We asked folks to write short stories or memories — like that familiar stranger you see every morning walking their dog, and how a simple exchanged smile becomes a quiet ritual. Once decorated, the postcards were meant to be left out in public, tied to a fence or tucked into a bench, for someone else to find.

It was a beautiful way to reflect on the small connections that shape our daily lives and to leave behind a bit of kindness for someone else to discover.
