Opportunity to become an Urban Nature Advocate - places limited

KulturNest via our partner organisation, Messzelátó, in Hungary, have just secured EU funding for a beautiful project happening this year called Urban Nature. We are looking for 6 people between the ages of 25-35 who we will train to become UNAs (Urban Nature Advocates). After four trainings, the UNAs will guide young people between 18-25 in Nature Immersion experiences through parks in Berlin. We will also be setting up audio resources for the public which will be scannable by QR code and having some fun with Geo-cashing too!

If you are between 25-35 and interested in becoming an Urban Nature Advocate, we would love to have you! You'd need to be available for fixed dates between March - July (see below) and we will pay for a short trip to Hungary too! More information and the application form here:

What is the Urban Nature project?

This project was born out of our love for nature and our belief that nature is everywhere. Nature is not only forests – it also includes small and large green spaces within our cities.

The project is run by two partner organisations: Kulturnest e.V., based in Berlin, and Messzelátó, based in Budapest.

With this project, we aim to:

  • Support the personal and professional development of young youth workers in Berlin and Budapest by involving them in youth-led projects that explore urban green spaces and strengthen their connection to nature and sustainability.

  • Build a network of young nature advocates who can share experiences, inspire their peers, and develop long-term collaboration through exchanges and study visits.

  • Raise awareness of environmental issues and urban biodiversity through educational activities and accessible digital tools for a wider audience.

To achieve these goals, we will create a group of 6–8 young people per country, aged 25–36, who are interested in exploring nature, want to develop their skills in this field, and would like to be part of a unique initiative that promotes nature in urban environments.

What can you gain by being part of the UNA team?

  • Take part in a 4-day training on forest immersion / nature connection methodology. Through this training, you will learn how to lead a 2–3 hour nature walk in urban green spaces.

    • 1 day will be indoors to get to know each other and learn the basics of the methodology

    • 3 days will take place in selected parks and green areasTimeframe: March & April 2026

  • Lead two nature walks in pairs with other Urban Nature Advocates in selected parks.Receive 150 EUR per walk per leader for your work (300 EUR for the 2 walks that you will lead.).Timeframe: April–June 2026

  • Join study visits (travel and lodging are covered) to connect the two UNA groups:

    • Budapest (Etyek) – May 2026

    • Berlin – June 2026

  • Receive ongoing support and mentoring from experienced professionals working in nature connection and youth work.

  • Be involved in creating audio contents for the walks, selecting locations for geocaching, and taking part in promotional and public events.

You are welcome to join our team if:
