Collage workshop to rethink love, one cut at a time

For this year’s February 14th, we decided to organise a creative workshop to make non-Valentine’s Day postcards. An evening gathering, with a few snacks, to reflect together on romantic love—leaving behind clichés and chocolate-box stereotypes. What does truly romantic mean to each of us?

Through the collage technique, we created postcards addressed to ourselves or to people we care about, moving beyond conventional romantic relationships. Each message was shaped by a personal and non-stereotypical definition of love.

Although participation was not large, the atmosphere was intimate and full of genuine sharing. Participants were invited to create their postcards in German or in their native languages, to express themselves more freely and encourage exchange.

Collage-Workshop, um Liebe neu zu denken – Schnitt für Schnitt

Zum 14. Februar haben wir einen kreativen Workshop organisiert, um Nicht-Valentinstagskarten zu gestalten. Ein gemütlicher Abend mit kleinen Snacks, um gemeinsam über romantische Liebe nachzudenken – fernab von Werbeklischees und Pralinenromantik. Was bedeutet für jede von uns etwas wirklich Romantisches?

Mit der Collagetechnik haben wir Postkarten gestaltet – an uns selbst oder an Menschen, die uns wichtig sind – jenseits der klassischen romantischen Beziehung. Jede Botschaft spiegelte eine persönliche, nicht-stereotype Definition von Liebe wider.

Auch wenn die Teilnehmerzahl überschaubar war, entstand eine intime und offene Atmosphäre des Austauschs. Die Teilnehmerinnen waren eingeladen, ihre Karten auf Deutsch oder in ihrer jeweiligen Muttersprache zu gestalten, um sich freier ausdrücken und einen Dialog anregen zu können.

Per il 14 febbraio abbiamo scelto di proporre un laboratorio creativo dedicato alla realizzazione di cartoline di non-San Valentino. Un incontro serale, accompagnato da qualche stuzzichino, per riflettere insieme sull’amore romantico, liberandoci dagli stereotipi pubblicitari e dalle immagini da cioccolatini. Che cosa significa, per ciascuna di noi, qualcosa di davvero romantico?

Attraverso la tecnica del collage abbiamo creato cartoline indirizzate a noi stesse o a persone a cui vogliamo bene, andando oltre l’idea tradizionale di relazione romantica. Ogni messaggio è nato da una definizione personale di amore, lontana da modelli preconfezionati.

Anche se la partecipazione non è stata molto numerosa, si è creata un’atmosfera raccolta e di condivisione autentica. Le partecipanti sono state invitate a realizzare le cartoline anche in tedesco o nella propria lingua madre, per esprimersi in modo più libero e aprire spazi di scambio e dialogo.
