What actually happens in the space between one person and another?
How do you even begin to describe that tension that builds as we move closer to one another? That in-between zone, invisible, unnamed, and yet so palpable.
That very space was the material of Day One of our Zirkusstrassen training.
The energy that exists between us can be transformed into an art of communication, where words aren't needed, and the body itself takes on shapes we never knew it could.
Today, youth workers from France and Germany met for the very first time, and got to know each other through laughter. Far from being full of "blah blah" theory, our training sessions were anything but, though don't worry, some blah blah is scheduled too 😊

Today we "cooked up" the beginnings of a shared way of living and creating together, and we're now gearing up for a journey through Berlin. Together and apart, we coiled rope and hung from urban installations 🙂
None of this happens on its own. Huge thanks to our wonderful trainers, Nini and Pati, for holding this space, and to Thea, who wove in playful language animations, a bit in German, a bit in French, and a little in every other language too.
Thank you. Thank you to everyone who welcomes social circus into public spaces.
It was a wonderful day.
